How to Create and Use Flashcards on Distinction

Flashcards are a powerful way to study and retain information. In this article, you’ll learn how to create and use Flashcards on Distinction.

You need to be logged into the platform to create and use flashcards. 👉 If you don’t have an account yet, read our article on How to Create an Account

Step 1: Access Flashcards

From your dashboard, tap Flashcards.

Alternatively, Tap the menu icon (☰) at the top left and select My Library
                         

On the My Library Dashboard, select the Flashcards tab.


Step 2: Generate Flashcards

Click the Generate Flashcards button. A menu will pop up for you to choose your preferences:
  1. Use the platform curriculum or upload your own course materials.
  2. Select the course you want to practice.
  3. Pick the difficulty level (easy, medium, or hard).
        
Once you’re done, click Generate Flashcards and wait a few seconds.

👏 You’ve now created your first flashcard set!

Step 3: View and Use Your Flashcards

In your library, tap on the card with the course title you selected.
Confirm by checking the date, time, and difficulty level.

To study:
  1. Read the question carefully.

Think of the answer.
  1. Tap the card to flip and reveal the answer.
         
Use the arrows (< to go back, > to go forward) to move between cards.
Idea
While practicing, you can also use the AI Chatbot (bottom-right corner) to ask questions, get clarifications, or receive extra explanations about the flashcard content.

When you reach the last card, you’ll see a message telling you the set is complete. You can:

  1. Go back to your Library Dashboard for a summary of your performance, or
  2. Repeat the flashcards you just completed.


Step 4: Track Your Performance

In your Library Dashboard, scroll down to see:

  • Time spent studying with flashcards.

  • Accuracy rate.

  • Study trends over time.

       

This helps you understand your strengths and areas for improvement.
